Farrah

For me, photography started on the side of the road a long time ago when my Dad showed me how to take long exposure images of the night sky. While studying visual arts at The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, photography became my passion. The darkroom was a sanctuary- loud music, the red lights and the AC on full blast keeping the chemistry cool. I received my BFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. Eventually my path led me back to Houston. Now the darkroom is my computer and my passion for photography has thankfully become my day’s work.

My two sons are growing up at a blinding speed. My job is to chase them around and collect the moments- the silly faces, the curls, the dimples where their knuckles will soon be, and the rolls on their arms and legs that look like an invisible little rubber band is holding it tight almost about to pop. This is the job that I try and do for you as well. I want to take the picture that you look at for years to come. The one that brings back floods of memories and offers a glimpse into the love that you have for your family. I want your children to see the images later and know that they were loved.

The loves of my life are my husband and two sons. They light me up and inspire me on a daily basis. We love to travel together and my boys are some of my very best subjects.
