Do you offer packages? We do have some simple packages that we call collections. Our collections include items like a loose print Scrapper’s Delight package as well as wall art and digital items. The best way to become familiar with all that we have to offer is to schedule a complimentary face-to-face or telephone consultation.
Do you have a session fee? Yes, the session fee covers the photographer’s time and materials. Studio sessions are $185. I schedule at least an hour for each session. Newborns sessions are longer, allowing time for snacks, diaper changes and cuddles. On the other hand, your toddler may be done in 30 minutes. Either way, there will be plenty of time for you and your family to relax and for me to get great images.
We do have session packages like our Baby’s First Year Collection that include multiple sessions at a package price. We also have our Maternity and Newborn Duo, which includes 2 sessions and a special price on custom designed birth announcements.
Do you shoot on location too? Yes, the location session fee is $225 (weekdays) or $265 (weekends). Locations outside of central Houston may require a travel charge.
Where are you located? The studio is conveniently located in the First Ward Arts District near I-10 and Taylor.
When will I get my prints? Most of our portrait art is custom framed or printed onto canvas and that does take time. Depending on the complexity of the order and the time of year (holiday turn around times may be longer), final pieces should be completed within 4-8 weeks of the order date. Loose prints and custom cards are usually ready sooner, between 2-4 weeks. We do offer rush services, however, we prefer not to rush orders as it makes it more likely for something to be missed or for there to be an error. In the case of our work, good things really do come to those who wait.
May I purchase my digital negatives? We do have a digital price list and would be more than happy to go over that with you. Please call the studio for more details, (713) 255-2882.
What should I wear to my session? This is a great question and it has more than one answer. If you love fashion and enjoy trends then I would let that reflect in your choices of clothing. Clothing looks best if it stands out in a cool way making the shoot look more like a fashion shoot or if it goes away and the clothes become secondary to the people in the shot. We want these images to look like who you really are so consider that when you decide on clothing. Here are some things to think about:
- Keep the clothing in one color family and then everyone doesn’t need to match. For example have everyone wear warm colors (brown, red, gold, orange) or cool colors (blues, greens).
- Are we shooting in the studio or outside? I think everyone should be
comfortable. If it is hot please don’t overdress yourself or the kids. The
same is true for the studio, please dress your kids in something that makes them comfortable and that they feel good in.
- Your shoes and socks may show so either opt to be barefoot or consider matching shoes on all.
- Wear your makeup as you would normally. If you normally wear none, it may be a good idea to wear some.
To have images for holiday cards and gifts, when do I need to schedule? If you are interested in holiday cards or holiday gifts, please schedule your session in advance. Every year we have to turn people away who waited until the last minute. Orders that are made past the following dates may incur a rush charge.
Holiday Cards- your session must be completed by November 10th
Gina Alexander purses- must be ordered by November 10th
Framed Prints- ordered by November 24th
Loose Prints- ordered by December 8th
