This one is my absolute favorite. I love the look on his little face!

blog_3891.jpgLove his puffy, little lips! I'm also a big softie for that full head of newborn hair because both of my boys had little shaggy heads like this...totally takes me back, sigh...

For those of you who have been to the studio, you know that I have a love affair with baby hats. I collect them. This sweet little pilot cap is one of my new finds. Love it?

I had so much fun photographing these 4 kids! I love this shot! When I showed these images to Mom, she smiled and told me that these two have always had a special bond. I thought I saw that when I shot it and it was nice to know that I did, indeed, capture that special moment. That is one of my favorite things about what I do. When I catch those elusive and special moments it makes it even more special.

I photographed this sweet little babe a few days ago. He made us work for this shot! This little guy just couldn't quite fall all the way asleep, at least not very easily. I think it took me and his Mom about an hour to finally get him completely asleep! Ah, but wasn't it worth it? Sweet little face isn't it?

Today I really have 2 favorite shots and I'll explain why. His Mom and I worked hard for the next 2 hours keeping him relaxed and getting all the shots we wanted. We ended up with a lot of laundry too. His pacifier must have been washed 10 times (kept popping out and falling on the ground). I even began to doubt my baby calming skills! Finally, when it was all done, she picks him up and takes him over to my couch to change his diaper for the ride home. She sets him down, turns to get the diaper bag and when she turns back this is what she saw...

FSF_2447.jpgWhat a little stinker right?! We both cracked up. These little guys do keep you on your toes. Happy Friday everyone. I hope you all get some hard earned sleep this weekend too!

Sometimes the best expressions aren't the big smiles. Don't get me wrong, I love a big toothy grin especially if the front teeth are missing or if there are only the first two teeth on the bottom. I also love the serious, shy, soulful and curious faces. I love them all. Here's a really sweet one for you. Blog friends, meet Isabelle...

My work is all about milestones in people's lives. It's one of the things that make the work that I do so special to me. Recently I have started shooting high school seniors and I am loving it (this image is from a recent senior session). I used to teach high school so I feel connected to that age group already. They are at such a cool and scary time in their life. It's half amazing, hopeful and ready to conquer the world while the other half is scared, nervous and uncertain. My job is to make amazing images that capture the spirit of the age and give Mom and Dad something they can hold on to. in most cases, their child is heading out into the big, scary world to make their way and may never live under their roof again. Before I know it, it'll be me sitting in that hot seat watching my boys pack up and set off.

I remember the day that I packed my car with all my belongings, my scruffy dog and $1000 and headed to CA. I'll never forget the look in my Dad's teary eyes. It was everything from terror to pride. I didn't get that look back then but boy do I get it now.

What about you my friends? Any favorite shots today? Leave links to your images, Flickr, blogs, etc in the comments section below or add your images to our Favorite Shot Friday Flickr pool.

Happy weekend!

Farrah Braniff says: Sandra, her skin is pretty much fab naturally! I do love Imagenomic's portraiture plug in for Photoshop though. (06.14.10 @ 08:45 PM)
