I just recently had my 3rd session with little Milla. Our first was when she was still in her Mom's tummy, then her newborn session and now her 4 month session. Time is just flying these days and I can't believe how quickly all my First Year Collection babies are growing up! I know it's just regular speed but, to me, it feels more like light speed.

I know that all parents feel that way too. Kids just grow up so fast! My oldest son, Sayer, is working on loose tooth number 2 and is about to turn 6. Finnian just turned 4 and is getting so tall and losing that baby boy look. Anyone who has a child in the 4-5 range knows what I am talking about. It's in that fourth year that they really loose the baby look. The little pot belly flattens out and the legs get longer. They get taller and start looking like kids instead of toddlers. It's bittersweet to say the least.

Ah, but I digress...we were talking about Milla! Here she is in all of her cute glory.

This is our newest storyboard layout, what do you think? It prints out to 16x20 and looks great in our custom hand-painted frames. I hope Milla's Mom, Carly, loves it!

One of the best things about what I do is that I get to watch the babies that I photograph grow up.  I have been photographing Jill since she was pregnant with her first baby.  Now, years later, I am still photographing her family.  Jill has been with me since the early days and I am so thankful for that.  She has gotten to watch me grow in my business as well.

A few weeks ago I photographed her youngest, Skylar...so sweet!

Thank you Jill!  I hope you love the collage.

Hands down, the most popular product that I offer at my studio is my First Year Collection. It is such an amazing thing because I get to watch families grow up together and it is such a privilege. I also really get to know my clients so the whole experience of working together is so much more comfortable and casual. I love the surprise of seeing how much the babies have grown since I saw them last. It never ceases to amaze me how much happens to us in our first year of life.

At the end of the year, some clients choose to have me design a First Year Storybook. I have been hard at work on one of those books for the last couple of months. This particular family had me come to the hospital to take labor and delivery photographs as well, which is just an incredible experience. The images that I take during L&D are just something that you have to see to understand. They tell the whole story of the day - the relationships, the excitement, the love and the joy. I feel so honored that people invite me into something so personal and so vulnerable. So, after a year of following this family through their journey into and through parenthood, I get to relive it again while putting together their album. Here are a few of my favorite pages. This album is a 12x12 book so when opened, this page that you are looking at is actually 12'x24" and lays completely flat.

Here's a little video that we made using a handful of recent images. I hope you all love it! It's a little taste of what's to come for all of my clients. What do I mean? Well, every January, I go in and rework my products, prices and offerings to make sure you guys have some new and exciting things to see. This year we are adding a new type of session and it includes a video like this! We take the best 20 or so images from your session and make you a slideshow that you can watch at home over and over again. Here's another one from a recent session with little blue-eyed Madeleine.

Do you Facebook, blog or MySpace? If so, we'll send you one to use with that as well. I know, it's very cool and Julie (my studio manager for those who haven't met her yet) and I are excited too.

Also...Facebook users, make sure and send me a friend request and I'll send you some images for your Facebook page. There is a link to my Facebook page in the menu options above under Websites.

My amazing friends, Danny and Denise, brought their newest little baby girl to see me today! I had been asking them when they were going to let me photograph her so I was very excited and happy! She is so beautiful and was a great little model today. I know Danny and Denise are anxious to see a few so here's a little sneak peek!

Of course when we get together it can't be serious the whole time...

And my personal favorite of the day is this one. Isn't she just amazing?
