I know that I have been MIA on the blog. We moved the studio last week and it has been hectic as you can imagine. We are completely in the new (and improved) space but it's still a bit of a mess. I am seeing clients though and we're getting there! It's a great space and I know you all are going to love it! I'll post some pictures of the new space soon. In the meantime, here's the new information:

My first appointment was with Emi's Mom to take a look at her session from a few weeks ago. Here are a few of her amazing faces. Whenever I look at that big joyful smile it makes me smile too. Her Mom's name is Joy and has an amazing smile herself so little Emi comes by it quite naturally. Isn't she just beautiful? When I was photographing her all I had to do was shake my head back and forth and she would crack up. It was really funny.

I hope you enjoyed that little ray of sunshine on this cloudy (at least here in Houston) Thursday morning!

The first part of the year has been really busy at the studio. We've been freshening things up and cleaning up the loose ends from 2008. Every January, I add some new items to our product line and this year I added three new storyboard collages, some new frame styles, DVD slideshows and digital items for Facebookers and bloggers. Here's one of my favorite new storyboard layouts that we have available.

By the way, If you are already a client and would like some images for your Facebook page, just send me an email and friend request. There is a link to my facebook page in the menu above under "websites".

I am also going to be having another basic digital photography class here on May 30th. In the class, I teach 10 tools to take amazing photographs of your children. It is a must for those of you who have new digital SLR cameras and are struggling with how to use them. It's a full day class at my studio (10 am to 4 pm). Everyone gets a great goodie bag too!  Interested in signing up? Give us a call to reserve your spot, (713) 255-2882. The cost for the class is $100 per person and we only have 15 spots.

Jenny Staff Johnson says: I really wish I could attend this. I have a little-less-than-new SLR and it is so cool. The base level Nikon one, D40 maybe??. I went to Nikon school to learn how to use it but it was mostly over my head. Anyway, we will likely be in China or just back from China on 5/30. But if not this time, next time..... Here's a little video that we made using a handful of recent images. I hope you all love it! It's a little taste of what's to come for all of my clients. What do I mean? Well, every January, I go in and rework my products, prices and offerings to make sure you guys have some new and exciting things to see. This year we are adding a new type of session and it includes a video like this! We take the best 20 or so images from your session and make you a slideshow that you can watch at home over and over again. Here's another one from a recent session with little blue-eyed Madeleine.

Do you Facebook, blog or MySpace? If so, we'll send you one to use with that as well. I know, it's very cool and Julie (my studio manager for those who haven't met her yet) and I are excited too.

Also...Facebook users, make sure and send me a friend request and I'll send you some images for your Facebook page. There is a link to my Facebook page in the menu options above under Websites.

So, the photo has absolutely nothing to do with the class...well, that's not 100% true.  That picture has something to do with one of the goodies that you get from me if you attend!  Anyway, I am teaching a class on Sunday (October 12th) at my studio.  It is a basic digital photography class aimed at teaching beginning photographers how to use your fancy-shmancy digital SLR camera.  If you stare at your Canon Rebel, baffled, wondering what the heck all those letters and icons mean then this is the class for you.  It will be a small class, which means lots of personal attention and time for questions.  It starts at 10 am and goes until 4 pm with an hour and a half lunch break.  You get a goodie bag, a gift certificate from me and lots of good info on how to improve your picture taking.  We had one of our attendees cancel at the last minute so this is your chance!  Give us a call if you're interested! (713) 255-2882.

Could be great news for you?  I am looking for some maternity portrait models!  I need Moms-to-be in their 32nd-36th week.  I will be experimenting with some new ideas and techniques.  These sessions are not like a normal session where you have some control or input over the outcome.  The pictures will be beautiful but you need to come in without any pre-conceived ideas or expectations.  You will also have to sign a model release and be okay with these images being put into a book that I am working on.  I will likely have one or two ideas that I want to try.  Most of my ideas will involve some element of nudity.  Anything that I do will always be tasteful but I do need folks that are not bashful.  Sound like you?  Give the studio a call!  (713) 255-2882.
