Last week Sayer's school had a thanksgiving celebration in his class.  They had homemade hats and they sang Thanksgiving songs.  It was precious.  Sayer is in toddler love with a girl in his class.  He calls her his "best friend" and just adores her.  It's really sweet.  They are so similar and have so much fun together.  Their mannerisms are the same and they're silly in all of the same ways.  here's what I mean...

and then just Sayer

and a hug for Jolie.

AT this point Sayer tried to kiss her and Jolie's Dad called off the love-fest.  It's funny to watch them together.  As one might say, "they just click".  I think it's super sweet and I really like that he feels protective of her.  He's a softie!  Watching him be sweet like that makes me feel like maybe we're doing this parenting thing right...at least some of the time!  :)  Here's one of me and my little softie.

I went to Austin a few days ago to see my brother's new baby again. I watched him while they went out and had dinner. He is so cute! I wish I could have stayed longer. On day two he treated me to one of the things I miss the most...he fell asleep on my chest for a good hour and a half.

This morning at breakfast Sayer and I had this conversation...

Me- I love you to the moon and back
Sayer- I love you to Pluto's moon and back down to Earth.
Me- That's pretty far! I love you to Pluto's moon and back too.
Sayer- I love Daddy to Pluto's Moon and back to Earth too.
Sayer, again after a short pause- I only love Finnian to the clouds.

Little does he know how much he's going to love his brother as he grows up. Rhett, in case you are reading...I love you to Pluto's moon and back down to Earth!

Last weekend we had a day of parties.  The first one was Allison's 3rd birthday.  Allison is our neighbor and Sayer's classmate at school.  They had a pony and a petting zoo.  The kids had a blast.

Finn's favorite was the rabbit and Sayer's was the turtle.

and my LEAST favorite...the goat.  Is it just me or are goats just kind of freaky and gross?

After a tearful goodbye, we went home and napped.  Then it was time for Christoher's party!  Christopher dressed up like a pirate.  I asked him to give me his best "pirate pose".  Here it is.

They had our kids favorite cookies so that was a big hit too.

Every year the kid's school has a Fall Festival in October.  It's a great party for the kids and they all wear their costumes.  Our kids have pretty much been wearing their costumes ever since Fall Festival, which was at least a week ago.  Here are some highlights from the day...

I love these two girls.  I have photographed them several times and they just get more and more adorable.  The little blue geisha is in Finn's class.

Face painting time!  The ghost that Sayer had painted on his face stayed on for days.  We weren't allowed to wash it off.  Finally after a few days he relented and let me wash it.

Finn had a star on his cheek.

A little while after this, we had the predictable meltdown and had to leave.  We weren't the only ones.  When you looked around you could see more than one parent dragging around a screaming child.  Long day + excitement + candy + costumes + overstimulation = FREAK OUT!  Freak out and all, it was a really fun afternoon and seeing all the kids running around in the costumes was so much fun.
