Danny got Phoebe a little Christmas gift.  It's the most hilarious little thing.  Last week I took a few minutes break and had Phoebe do some modeling.  What do you think?

In case you're wondering, she does NOT like the outfit.  She freezes like a little statue when I put it on and won't move.

I think today can go down as a perfect day for Sayer.  He awoke to presents and moved on to yummy breakfast and hours of play.  The first half of the day was spent in his Optimus Prime costume.

Finn had a batman costume but you'll just have to take my word for it because he wouldn't let me take a picture of him.  Let's just take a moment here to say that Finn's day was good but not perfect.  He had more of a typical 2.5 year old day.  Need I say more?  We did manage to watch a lot of this...anyone know it?  These little gems from the past have become Sayer's and Finn's favorite movies.

Later, while Finn napped, Sayer and I moved on to one of the Christmas day Highlights- the Snoopy sno-cone machine.  Now does anyone remember this machine?  "Machine" is not a very accurate term.  You manually turn the plastic crank to create the shaved ice.  Sayer's 5 (yes, 5) mini sno-cones took me about an hour- whew!  He was so happy eating them!  He just kept saying "Only one more".

The day came to a close with the Christmas day jewel, the Wii.  Sayer had so much fun playing the baseball game!  After baseball he played his LEGO Star Wars game.  We played together and he thought it was hilarious to keep chasing ME and attacking me with his light saber.  We did manage to get our fair share of bad guys too.  By the way, any self-respecting photographer would have cleaned up all the mess on the floor to rid the shots of "distracting background elements" but if I actually took the time and tried to remove these sorts of "elements" from my home the shots would never occur!

Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope you all had as good a day as Sayer and I did!

Rhett & Emily says:

Loudon's first Christmas was pretty good. He got books, clothes, teething rings, and a few toys. On Christmas Eve we tracked Santa on Google Earth, and made cookies. Loudon slept through all that. Christmas day we opened Loudon's gifts for him, went for a stroll around town lake, and then we were off to Grandma's house for dinner. See you soon.

The studio has been so busy these past few weeks that I have been unable to keep up with blogging.  Sorry!  Recently, Finn and I spent an evening with The Clarks.  Danny has a big bin of cool hats.  I photographed Finn and Whitney in the hats with my new  70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Autofocus Lens.  I love it!  Anyway, As the night wore on, I took some hilarious shots of the kids standing over a big fan.  You'll have to wait a little while for those gems.  In the meantime, Here are the hats!

I love silly faces.  If you bring your kids to my studio, don't be surprised if I ask them scream or look scary or make a funny face.  It cracks me up and can make for some great images.

And now, my little Finn in his super cool skull hat!

Oh, that little boy!  I just look at him and my heart wants to explode!

I know that Halloween was a while ago but I never posted pictures of the kids in their costumes.  Sayer dressed up as Superman and Finn was dressed up as one of The Incredibles.  Halloween is just so cute!!

It's so awesome how they really think their costumes are the real thing and sort of transform into their character.  Sayer slept in his costume for days.  He wanted to sleep in the cape part tonight but (imagining him getting strangled by it during sleep) we said no.

I always reassure my clients that getting pictures of your 2 young toddler children together is a real feat- even for a pro. Here's an example.

We tied skulls up in the trees and the kids loved it.

Finn- flying!

Our across the street neighbor, Allison, saw us out playing and came to join in the fun.  I love the way they are looking at her.  Allison recently joined Sayer in room 8 at school and he has been looking out for her.  It's sweet.
