How can this NOT be my favorite shot of the week? I mean seriously! And what is it about babies in hats?! It's just too cute! This is beautiful little Marnie. She was the smiliest little baby that I photographed all week. All you had to do was look at her and smile and she gave you one right back. It's funny how different babies are with their smiles. Some just hand them out without reservation and some make you work for them. I have 2 boys and one of them smiled at everyone and let anyone hold him and the other made you earn it. The only thing better than a baby smile is a baby giggle. That is just a magical thing. I don't know how you watch a baby giggle and not do the same yourself. I'm powerless against it!
So, how about everyone else? Any favorite shots this week? Please share! Post links to your images in the comments below and/or in the Favorite Shot Friday Flickr group. Our new little pool is growing inch by inch, come and see the images that people have submitted! Thanks everyone for participating and I can't wait to see more!
This shot was taken early in the morning in Galveston. I picked this one because when I look at it I instantly feel like I'm there. I am missing California too so just looking at the beach makes me feel closer to my favorite spots along the Pacific.
Can't wait to see your shots! Post links to them in the comments below or post them to Flickr in the Favorite Shot Friday group pool. Please don't be shy about adding your images. Don't worry about them being perfect - we're not competing, we're sharing.

I went to post and my Vegas pictures from a few years ago came up. This was taken with just my little digital p&s before I got my DSLR and really knew what I was doing. (As if I do now!) This was just a beautiful day in the Nevada desert. I just happened to turn around from the Red Rocks sign we had stopped at for a photo op, and saw this. Love it. Like your beach one, it takes me back there everytime.

The past few weeks have been buzzing with activity at the studio. The holidays are one of our busiest times of the year. I know that I have been absent from the blog these past weeks but we've just been working our tails off. My new year's resolution is that I am going to be a better blog writer! In the meantime, enjoy some holiday fun!

What about you guys? Any favorite shots this week? I'd love to see them! Please post links to your images in the comments section below.

Farrah - Just wanted to THANK YOU for leaving comments on my Flickr account (bBchronicles) - I WAS TOTALLY HONORED! I knew I recognized your logo and 'zing' it all clicked. I've been checking in on your sit regularly, wow - and there you were making comments. Your work is AMAZING - and I wish I could pick your brain! I'm fairly new at all this - 3 years now trying to learn through websites and books. It's coming but slow. My goal is to open a small home studio before too long. I really love doing landscapes - 'humans' are more of a challenge for me!!!! haha! Thanks for your help on your site.

Meet Kirstie and Brodie! This is my favorite shot for today. I have my favorite and an alternate too! These twins are so funny and lively. They are a joy to photograph and the parents are fantastic too. Their favorite images are the big personality ones so we get along perfectly.

This shot is going front and center on the family's holiday card too! Here's my 2nd place for this friday post.

OK, now it's your turn! Post links to your favorite shots (flickr links, blog links, etc.). I loved all of your comments and links last friday and am looking forward to more. Thanks for participating!
You know how it is, sometimes an image just speaks to you. It may not be the best technical image or the "perfect shot" but you just love it. I thought it would be fun to start a new thing on the blog where I post my favorite shot of the week. The thing that would make this even more fun would be for you guys to show me your favorite shots too!
So, who is willing to play? Here's my idea...we all post our favorite shot by including links to our image in the comments section that is underneath my post. You can include a link to your Flickr, blog, website or whatever. The shots don't have to be perfect - just a shot that you love and you tell us why.
Why play? My hope is that we can all inspire each other with different images and why we love them. Maybe it'll even get us all shooting more!
And then after we play? Well, I was also thinking that I could randomly pick a winner from the people who comment and post images and give away some fun swag. Do you guys have any thoughts on that part? I would love to hear any and all suggestions about this idea in so please comment and let me know how to make it fun for you guys. What would encourage you to participate?
I'll start things off. My favorite shot this week is this image of Milla. I have been photographing Milla since before she was born (in her Mommy's tummy for the first session). Her Mom and Dad are a joy to work with and Milla is, as you can see, just precious. I sat down today with her parents and this shot was our group favorite. I just love her little hand tucked up by her face, her tiny toes and that smile. I also love the color harmony and the simplicity.
I'm excited to hear what you all think about my idea. Let me know!

Fun, Farrah! I like your game idea....I'm always wooed by free prints and little doo-dads adorned with my little Milla's face! Here's my fave pic, actually taken yesterday after our rendezvous with you. I love the organic elements of the shot and the moment of discovery it captured...sort of looks like it could be on the cover of a children's science textbook :)

I love your idea, Farrah, and your work is just beautiful. Here is a link to my blog... http://hilaryhelton.squarespace.com/ ... there is an image on the November 5 "afternoon in the mountains" post, a close-up shot of the little girl with her hair blowing around her face. It was so windy that day!

I love this pic because it focuses on two of my favorite things: Emma's blue eyes and chubby cheeks. I know that this face will change before I know it... http://gallery.me.com/mylittlemama#100124/DSC_2925&bgcolor=black
