I've been MIA this past week. We're in the middle of trying to sell our house and it's eating my lunch. I'm doing my best to stay afloat, return emails, do work and not go insane. It's half working. The very best news is that in about a month, I'll be on a plane headed to one of my favorite cities on the planet, San Francisco! I'm so looking forward to seeing friends, taking classes at the Blogher convention, staying up late, having awesome conversations, sleepovers, ideas, laughing and connection. Plus, I get to see some old friends from high school and my college years and I'm beyond excited about that. So, If I don't go insane between now and then, it'll be awesome.
Instagram is so inspiring to me. My newest IG obsession is Clark Little. If you ever need any this world is so crazy beautiful and it blows my mind sort of inspiration, his photos of waves will do that for you. Enjoy!
I'm deep in the middle of sorting out some tough life questions and this article helped add a few more permission slips to my stack. I hope you find some of your own.
Also, how is it that I am only now finding out about Dan Savage? I'm smitten and can't wait to dive into his book I just ordered off of Amazon.
For anyone struggling with the inevitable bathing suit / summer poolside shame / general body unhappiness, I loved this post by Dresden. She's awesome all the way around. At mom 2.0 we both looked at each other at one point and were like, I like you completely and right away! Don't you love when you meet people like that, you know when it just feels easy and awesome from the start? That's a bit of chemistry I think. Who knows, maybe we roamed a past life together...
I finally found this awesome bit by David Cross. The first time I heard it, I laughed myself to tears. The best part starts at 40:00 and focuses on how we deal with dead bodies and he talks a bit about organ donation. I love it. Word of caution, NSFW and skip it if you are recently dealing with a death 'cause it's definitely not polite. On the other hand, if you are a card carrying sicko like myself, enjoy.
Next week, I promise to be more disciplined and blog more. Happy weekend lovelies!
Oh, PS, I'm considering starting up a podcast. Any suggestions on awesome people to interview? What kind of stuff would you like to hear?
